Natural Allergy Relief for Kids

Allergies commonly affect children. This is because a child’s immune system is still very weak that is why allergies affect more children as compared to adults. Treating your child’s allergy may be very hard to do for most parents, especially if the nature of the allergy is due to weather changes.

When talking about allergies, most parents would think that the best way to treat them is by giving anti allergy medications. Yes, anti histamines are very effective in allergy relief, but they offer side effects like drowsiness which makes some parents worried. Good thing, allergies can also be treated without requiring your children to take those medications.

Here are some of the ways on how to relieve your kid’s allergy the natural way:

  • Know what factors trigger your child’s allergy so that you can find ways to get rid of it.
  • Stay away from those things that trigger your child to have allergies. When your child is sensitive to seafood, chicken, and crustaceans make sure that the foods you are serving them does not contain these allergens.
  •  Make sure that your house is clean. Dust and dirt may cause your child to have allergies.
  •  When you notice that your child is always sneezing and tearing when he or she is near your pets, then it is best to get rid of the pet.
  • If your child is sensitive to pollens, make sure that she is inside. Tell your child to avoid going outdoors especially early morning so that his or her allergies will not worsen.
  • It is best to use air purifier especially if the house has dust particles that can cause allergies to the child. This will help the child breathe clean air and eventually cure his or her allergies.
  • Let your child eat lots of fruits and vegetables. These are good food sources of vitamin C, which helps strengthen your child’s immune system. These foods can prevent your child to acquire diseases including allergies.
  • During the peak of allergy attack like runny nose and sneezing, prepare a hot and spicy soup for your kid to eat. Just make the spiciness tolerable for kids to eat. This can help loosen secretions and nose stuffiness that your child may be feeling.

When your child’s allergy seems to worsen and displays difficulty of breathing, then it is recommended to bring your child to the nearest hospital. Your child may have anaphylactic shock that needs immediate medical attention.
